Free backlink monitoring tool
Are your backlinksstill live?
Paste up to 20 articles where you paid for or earned a link. We check each page and email you a receipt per link: working, weakened or gone. Free, no login.

Check paid links in a minute.
Your site, your company email, then the articles your links sit on, one per line. You see the count here; each link's receipt comes by email.
How the check works
- STEP 01
We load the page
Each article is fetched fresh, the way a browser would, following up to 3 redirects. No cached copy.
- STEP 02
We find your link
We read every link on the page and keep the ones pointing at your site or its subdomains.
- STEP 03
We read the labels
Nofollow, sponsored or ugc on the link, and noindex or a canonical to another page on the article.
- STEP 04
You get a receipt
The count of what still works shows here. The full report, one receipt per link with the anchor, labels and time we checked, goes to your email.
What each status means
- 01
Working
The page is live, your link is on it, it's dofollow and the page is indexable.
- 02
Weakened
The link is there, but it's labelled nofollow, sponsored or ugc, the page has noindex, its canonical points to another URL, or it now redirects elsewhere.
- 03
Gone
The page returns 404 or 410, the site doesn't answer, or the page is up and your link has been taken out.
- 04
Couldn't check
The site blocked us, timed out or sent an error. That doesn't mean the link is gone; try again later or open it yourself.
About 1 in 5 had gone.
We rechecked 378 placed links, most of them paid, that went live between 2024 and 2026. 306 were still there. Most of the rest went because the article was deleted, the link was taken out, the site shut down or the link was switched to nofollow.

Fair questions
- Is this backlink monitoring tool really free?
- Yes. No login and no card. You need a company email, because that's where the full report goes. Up to 20 links a check, and 3 checks a day per email.
- Why do you need a company email?
- So the report reaches the team that owns the links, and so the tool isn't used to scrape sites.
- Can I check paid links without telling the site?
- Yes. We load each article the way a browser would and read its links. Nobody is contacted, and the site only sees an ordinary page visit from LinkHatchCheck.
- Does it tell me if Google has indexed the page?
- No. Only Google knows that for sure. We check the page is indexable: it doesn't ask search engines to stay away with a noindex tag or header, and its canonical doesn't point somewhere else.
- What counts as a dofollow link?
- A link with no nofollow, sponsored or ugc label, on a page that doesn't set nofollow for all its links. A labelled link still sends visitors, but it passes less weight in search.
- Why couldn't some links be checked?
- Some sites block automated visits, answer too slowly or return an error. We don't count those as gone. Open the page yourself, or ask us to check it by hand.
- What do I see on the page, and what comes by email?
- The page shows the count: how many links still work, how many were weakened and how many have gone. The full report, a receipt for every link with its anchor, labels and the time we checked, goes to your email.
- Do you share my links?
- No. Your links and the report go to you and to our team, so we can answer if you reply. We don't share them with anyone else.
