Branded anchor

A branded anchor uses your company or product name as the link text. It's the most common anchor type on natural, editorial links.

A branded anchor is link text that is your brand name, such as 'LinkHatch' or 'LinkHatch's blog'. When other sites mention you in a sentence and link the name, that's a branded anchor.

They're common because that's how people link in real writing. A profile with plenty of branded anchors looks natural and carries little risk. They also help build recognition. Readers see your name next to a source they already trust, which can matter more than any single ranking signal.

Practical point: don't discourage branded anchors in the hope of squeezing in keywords. Make it easy for people to refer to you, with a clear brand name and a stable homepage. Include the brand in a link request when it fits, and use the unlinked mention technique to turn plain mentions into links.
