Domain Authority

Also called: DA

Domain Authority is a Moz score from 1 to 100 that predicts how well a site may rank. It's a third-party estimate and not used by Google.

Domain Authority, or DA, is a metric created by Moz. It scores a website from 1 to 100 as a prediction of how likely it is to rank, based mainly on its link profile. It's calculated by Moz's own models and data.

Google doesn't use DA and doesn't see it. It's best understood as a comparison tool. A site with DA 60 probably has a stronger link profile than one with DA 20, but the number says nothing about topic relevance, audience or content. The score also moves when Moz updates its index.

Practical point: don't set DA as the only target or the only filter. It's possible to inflate it with low value links. Use it with traffic, relevance and your own judgment of the site. If two tools give very different numbers for the same site, that's normal, since each uses its own data.
