Domain Rating

Also called: DR

Domain Rating is Ahrefs' 0 to 100 score for the strength of a site's backlink profile. It's a third-party estimate, not a Google metric.

Domain Rating, or DR, is a score from 0 to 100 created by Ahrefs. It estimates how strong a website's backlink profile is compared with others in Ahrefs' index. It looks at the number and quality of referring domains and how widely they link out.

Google doesn't use DR and has said it has no equivalent site wide score you can see. It's a handy way to compare sites and screen out weak ones, but it can be gamed and it doesn't measure relevance, traffic or content quality. A high DR site with no real audience isn't a good placement.

Practical point: use DR as one filter, alongside organic traffic and a quick look at the site itself. Check that traffic is steady, topics are focused, and that the site doesn't sell links to anyone. Treat the number as a rough guide.

LinkHatch sites must clear a DR floor and a traffic floor, and each receipt shows both.

Links you can check.

Every link we place comes with a receipt. The free link plan shows the pages worth pushing and what the links would cost.
