Featured snippet
A featured snippet is a highlighted answer shown at the top of Google results, pulled from a web page that Google judges to answer the query.
A featured snippet is a box near the top of a results page that gives a direct answer, with a link to the source page. It might be a paragraph, a list or a table. Google picks the content automatically, and you can't apply for it.
Pages are more likely to be chosen when they already rank well and answer a clear question concisely. Short, direct answers under a clear heading, steps in a numbered list, and simple comparison tables fit well. Winning one can raise visibility, though it can also mean some users get the answer without clicking.
Practical point: find questions your customers ask, then answer them directly in a sentence or two near the top of the section before going into detail. Use plain headings that match the question. There's no guarantee, so treat it as a result of good, clear writing rather than a tactic.
