Link farm

A link farm is a site or group of sites that exist only to hold lots of outbound links. Google calls it a link scheme and devalues it.

A link farm is a collection of pages or sites built to exchange or sell links in bulk. There's little real content, no genuine audience, and pages are packed with links to unrelated destinations. Old directory sites that accept anything often fit the pattern.

Search engines are good at spotting this. Google's spam policies describe such arrangements as link schemes, and links from them are likely to be ignored. Getting caught in one can do more harm than good, especially if a large share of your profile comes from them.

Practical point: when you see a site with hundreds of outbound links on a page, no named authors, and topics that jump from casinos to gardening, that's a link farm. Don't add your link there. If you find them in your own profile, review them with a link audit and decide whether any action is needed.

LinkHatch doesn't place links on PBNs or link farms.

Every link we place comes with a receipt. The free link plan shows the pages worth pushing and what the links would cost.
