On-page SEO

On-page SEO is the optimization of things on the page itself, such as content, titles, headings, internal links and images.

On-page SEO covers the elements of a page that you control directly. These are the main content, the title tag, the meta description, headings, URLs, images and alt text, internal links and structured data. The goal is to make each page clear to both people and search engines.

Good on-page work starts with search intent. A page should answer the question behind a query better than the alternatives, in the format people expect. Then the details support it, such as a clear title, a logical heading structure, descriptive image alt text and links to related pages.

Practical point: give each page one main purpose and one main topic. Write titles for people first, with the main phrase near the start. Don't stuff keywords or repeat the same phrase unnaturally. Review your most important pages every few months and update facts, examples and links to keep them current.
