Pillar page
A pillar page is a broad, in-depth page on a core topic that links out to more detailed articles covering each subtopic.
A pillar page is the main page in a topic cluster. It gives a full overview of a broad subject, such as link building, and points readers to more detailed pages on each part of it. It's meant to be a good starting point, not a place to say everything.
It tends to attract links and rank for broader terms, since it's the natural page for others to cite. It also anchors your internal linking, so the supporting articles pass relevance back up to it. Length isn't the goal. A pillar that is long but unfocused won't help anyone.
Practical point: write it for someone new to the topic. Use clear sections, link to each supporting article where it fits, and keep it updated as you add pages. Check that supporting pages don't target the same keyword as the pillar, or they'll compete with each other.
